Every day, once a week, or once a month, you receive a notice of which contacts have been updated for you by WriteThat.name.
With Gmail’s new tabs, these notifications might end up in “promotions” as they are sent in bulk by our system. If you’d like to review what changes WriteThat.name has made (and especially if you are on manual mode, because without your action, nothing is updated), then make sure you drag and drop the WriteThat.name bot emails into your primary tab as explained very well here by mailchimp. And, of course, do the same for anything else that is important to you!
Are these promotion tabs a new business model?
Of equal interest on the subject, do read (and subscribe) to Seth Godin’s blog where most recently discussed the “choke point” where companies like Facebook, Linkedin, and Google provide free resources to get your attention and then sell it to others. His comment on Gmail’s new promotion tabs and the death of Google Reader is point on, and I’m very interested to see if it’ll come true one of these days!
